Formalities for traveling to Dubai

Formalities for a tourist stay of less than 90 days in Dubai.

If you are, for example a French citizen, you can travel to Dubai for up to 90 days without a visa.

These 90 days do not necessarily have to be completed during the same trip, they can be accumulated over a period of 180 days.

Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Germany benefit from the same simplified entry program into the territory of the United Arab Emirates.

Complete list of countries affected by this authorization:

Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Italy , Kiribati, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Maldives, Malta, Montenegro, Nauru, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia Islands, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay.

As part of a tourist trip of less than 90 days, French nationals are therefore exempt from a visa. You only need to have a passport valid for up to 6 months after your arrival date in Dubai.

When you arrive at the airport, you will have to go through customs. You will go to a screening office where you will be asked a few questions and will check your papers. If everything is OK, we will give you a stamp in your passport. This represents a free residence permit. You don't need to do anything additional to cross the border.

Note that these conditions are valid for all United Arab Emirates. Whether you are going to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, your passport is sufficient. You can also move around the country without any special controls.

Citizens of the member states of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and as already seen citizens of the European Union have no problems entering and leaving the country, while there are 12 countries whose citizens can obtain a visa on arrival valid for 30 days only: they are Australia, Brunei, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

All citizens of other countries in the world will have to request an entry visa to visit Dubai, but there is no need to go to the consulate, the visa is requested through a sponsor (practically every hotel in Dubai acts as a sponsor, alternatively the companies can do it airlines Air Arabia, Emirates, Etihad, Air Baltic, Air Serbia and flydubai).

Simply contact the hotel and they will take care of everything in exchange for a small fee for the service, alternatively on the websites of the airlines listed above there is a specific online visa request section.

It will be necessary to provide data such as passport number, citizenship, reason for travel to Dubai or the United Arab Emirates and date of return to the country of residence, and in a few days the visa will be sent via email, ready to print and be presented for control immigration at Dubai airport.
